Biotin 100 (powdered) Biotin 100 is a supplement that is used for healthy hoof growth in horses and other classes of livestock. A horse with dry or cracked hooves, recurring laminitis, or other hoof health issues can benefit from the supplementation of Biotin in its daily ration. The use of Biotin alone is not recommended. It should be used in conjunction with other products such as Dolomite, ZinPro 40 or the Horse Mix all of which are listed on this web site, as well as a number of other specialty horse feeds and/or the common 4-Way, All-Stock, All-Grain, C.O.B. etc. type products. The vitamin Biotin is a sulfur which contains B vitamins. It is found naturally in alfalfa and pasture grasses, barley, oats and soybean meal. Biotin itself does not remain in the horse for very long, and is passed through the urine. A healthy horse will normally produce its own B vitamins which are enough to supply an ample amount of Biotin for healthy hooves. However, in the case of poor feeds, lethargic metabolism, or other factors affecting the intake or natural production of Biotin, Biotin 100 is highly recommended as a supplement to help correct bad feet issues. Overnight results should not be expected with the use of Biotin as it takes some time to repair the damage of hoof issues.
